DAKOTA DREAMER
Groomer;; Falicity Vanburen
Falicity walked down the barn aisle towards one specific stall of a handsome chestnut thoroughbred gelding. This was the first time she had worked with this horse and was curious to see what his temperament was like, as well as what he was like to ride, but that was later not now. She knew he was a youngster that was why she wanted to work with him, she specialized in young horses, the old 'perfectly' trained horses weren't much of a thrill. She loved to train a horse something new. Falicity smiled as she stopped in front of the gelding stall. The horses head was down and he was nibbling on some left over hay from his lunch. She unclasped the halter from the stall door and unlatched the door walking in, shutting it behind her, she walked over to him, "Hey boy," She crooned softly. She smiled as she gently laid a hand on his neck. "Aww, such a nice boyyy" She cooed and gently ran her hand up and down his neck, he turned his head back and sniffed her. Falicity smiled watching him intently. Falicity slipped the halter over his nose then ears, she grabbed the clipped and clipped his halter on. She smiled and gave him a gentle pat, "Alright boy," She whispered and turned him around she opened the stall door and led him out and down the aisle to the wash rack. They reached it and he stopped abruptly and dropped his head sniffing the floor, "It's alright buddy, come on" Her tones were gentle and inviting, she gave him a reassuring pat before trying to led him in again. He snorted in dis-pleasure. This was not what he wanted, he didn't like it. He pulled back on the lead rope, "Alright enough of this" She said and pulled down on the lead rope, he tossed his head and she pulled again, "Come on" She spoke with more of harsh tone then before. She rolled her eyes slightly, before pulling quite a bit harder he backed up and she walked forward pulling him in. "We are just going to have to do this a lot more aren't we?" She said when she had him tied up in the cross ties.
Falicity walked down to the tack room and slipped in, grabbing the brushes for all the school horses. Walking back down to Dakota, she placed them on the side and grabbed the curry comb. Placing it on his body she started doing small circles, his skin twitched below the brush. She smiled affectionately "This too." She whispered to him. Continuing to brush his body, scrubbing off all the dirty with the curry comb, finally getting as much of the loose hair as she possibly could off of him. She dropped the curry comb back in the tack box, picking up the hard dandy brush, she worked her way from the top of his neck, flicking the dirt and hair all the way to his bum, flicking it off of him before brushing over him a few times with it on both sides. Finally she went over his body with the soft brush, smoothing out all the hairs leaving it sleek and smooth. She picked up the hoof pick and cleaned out each of his feet. Next she took the Mane 'n' Tail and combed out all the knots in his mane and tail. She gave him a once over before deciding he was done.
Falicity unclipped him and led him out of the stable. Leading him through path ways between paddocks she finally reached his. She opened the gate and led him in. Unclasping the halter she let him go. Walking out she shut the paddock gate and clipped the halter back onto the gate. Now for the next horse.
